I know I shouldn’t say anything, because it speaks for itself, really. But more hateful to me than the gates of Hades is the man without the courage to live his own life.

There seemed to me to be a hint of condescension all along in McCain’s repeated assertions that he “appreciates” Sarah Palin. It always sounded like he was referring to some kind of fine wine. Or perhaps he really meant the secondary definition of the word, which is to realize or be fully aware of. Maybe now he is simply fully aware of her, as his refusal to endorse her would indicate.
I’m not sure how to react to this. On the one hand it is definitely good that someone on the other side of the aisle is recognizing the insanity is a public way, but on the other, it’s absolutely crazy that a guy so close to death was 6 weeks ago trying to make her president… probably with the same feeling about her.
So strange, so demented.
