Olive, Jesus also said, "Go, sell all you have and give the money to the poor." Write back to me when you've fulfilled that commandment. And if you say "no, there's some context for that commandment that has to be taken into consideration," I will say the same about abstaining from blood. You can't take it out of Paul's context. And in theory abstaining from blood entirely would make meat-eating and operations impossible as well, for they certainly both spill blood. Heck, even removing a bad splinter involves getting some blood on you.

As one of jw, I can say the bible does say to ' abstain from blood', and 'not to drink Blood', It was a direct command from God. Check out LE 7:26, 1cor 11:19, and acts 15:20, just to name a few scriptures. You may think drinking blood and transfusions are different, but think of it this way... If your doctor tells you not to drink alchol would you shoot it into your veins, of corse not! Hope that makes sense.

Their doctrines regarding blood transfusions and shunning former members are among the things that makes people view them as a cult.

Ok, thanks for answering.

JWs go to public school and don't have religious oriented schools. There are catholic schools, jew school, islamic school, pentecostal school, amish school, but there aren't JWs school. I went to public school with "worldly" people for the most part of my life. Also college is not forbidden. Many JWs go to college, but in general don't want a prominent role in this world in imitation of Christ.

Uncessary association with "worldly" people is not forbidden. Even to marry "worldly" people is not forbidden, just discouraged. I think that a correct analysis have not to understimate the distinction between Rules and Pastoral advice among them.

I'm a bad english speaker and writer. Sorry.
