Diuturni Silentii… hodiernus dies finem attulit.

Where can i buy some isotretinoin online only using cash or money orders I’ve been quiet for awhile now, due to productive book-writing, guests, Easter in the City, and fabulous weather, which to squander by spending indoors when you don’t have to would be sinful.  Today, however, I simply had to give my body a break – I’m a bit sore from outdoor labor and sun exposure.  But as always, silence is a hard habit to break.  I’ll have to save most of my thoughts for tomorrow, as they seem too incoherent to put down.

getting Misoprostol without doctor The main talk of the town, amongst Catholics at least, was the latest press round on the Church sex-abuse scandal.  I attempted to write about this weeks ago, and found my thoughts almost hopelessly complex.  Writing about the Catholic Church, for believers, is a bit like writing about the World.  There are a lot of things you would change, if that was the kind of power you had; but you’re also just happy to get a chance to be in it.  And yet complacency is not acceptable either, for those to whom more is given.

One thing I can say: Benedict’s resignation, called for by Andrew Sullivan (and my aunts), seems like no response at all to me.  Popes don’t resign – they are chosen, and they serve until they are unchosen.

The proper response is to call a Council.  The Church has had one Council in the last 440 years (Vatican II).  A lot has happened during that period.  A lot has happened since the last Council – and even its meaning is debated.

This much is clear: the Church, as currently constituted, is for many people a stumbling block on the path to God.  The Church has a moral obligation to smooth this path as much as possible, and to focus on “the one thing necessary.”  A Council could do all that was necessary.  And whatever it didn’t get done, could be revisited by another Council. There is nothing to lose here.

A Council would have the power to depose the Pope, too, if that’s what they thought was the right thing to do.
